Wreck Diver
Whether purpose-sunk as an artificial reef for scuba divers, or lost as the result of an accident, wrecks are fascinating windows to the past. Ships, airplanes and even cars are fascinating to explore and usually teem with aquatic life. Each wreck dive offers a chance for discovery, potentially unlocking a mystery or spying something others have missed.
The Wreck Diver Specialty will discuss the equipment and techniques commonly employed while wreck diving. This course may be taught as a non-penetration (SDI) or as a limited- (SDI) or full-penetration course (PADI). Limited-penetration allows you to enter a wreck via a swim through or staying within the ambient light of entry point. Students in a penetration course will learn appropriate reel/spool skills and line work to enter wrecks safely.
We take students off-shore for this course, either into the Atlantic Ocean (in south Florida), or the Gulf of Mexico (near Tampa). Additional dive charter rates may apply, depending on choice of wrecks and dive sites.
